Vision Board Progress Update
It has been 6+ months into 2025 and I wanted to share how much of my vision board has come to fruition! This year my main focus was on homemaking and really prioritizing my wellbeing.
Spirituality and Prayer
I pray everyday and have incorporated spirituality into my daily life. I learn and walk my path with God, consulting God in all things I do, all my trials and tribulations and thank the universe for my blessings and my obstacles. I’ve learned to not react to situations but think how God would want me to respond. Similar to how Christians say they want to be more like Christ and make decisions he would make. While I do not necessarily identify as a Christian, I definitely take inspiration from the Bible and how to live a more spiritual and positively aligned life. My spiritual identity has always been eclectic, cherry picking from Christianity and Witchcraft. I view witches as healers who are aligned with nature and the white light of life, I do not believe or associate with Satanism or dark magic. I am all about freedom, protection, healing and positivity.
Reading
My yearly goal is to read 1 book a month. I’ve been able to stay on track this year. 6 months in and I am exceeding that goal. Audible has been a huge help because I’ve been able to multitask while reading, so I will usually be cooking, cleaning, taking a shower or working out while I listen to an audiobook.
Homemaking
We are quickly outgrowing our space so a storage update was much needed. We bought some inexpensive shelving/storage to organize our home. When working from home, it’s easy for your space to become more professional than personal; you don’t want to lose the homey part. With the way we have rearranged and organized our space, it gives an open and fresh feel, while being able to compartmentalize work, hobby and home.
Gardening
I really don’t have an ideal set up to garden with the way my building faces and lack of yard. I’m a novice gardener who has a dream of growing and canning her own food, so I must first learn to garden! The cucumbers, tomatoes and a single pumpkin is currently growing. I replanted some seeds again so hopefully it will add a little variety to our garden.
Dog care
I’ve been more on top of dog grooming, making sure they get their nail appointments and giving them more frequent baths. I’ve just put more thought into the caretaking we do for our dogs and I had some improvement. I bought them dog toothpaste for their teeth, something I normally did not do. My older dog is starting to show her age and I want her to be as comfortable as she can be. She’s starting to show some concerning signs so I am trying to make her life easier for her.
Financial Freedom
I can not stress the importance of having a healthy relationship with money. We are able to stretch our dollar more and shop smarter. Some things that work for me is saving a little bit from every purchase you make, even if its only $5, save it. If you can bulk shop to increase your food supply and take 1 day out of the week to meal prep, it will go a very long way. Cutting down on subscriptions that you don't absolutely need, like instead of having multiple streaming subscriptions bring it down to only 1 or 2. Canceling a gym membership makes room to be more creative around the home to get fitness in. Making these lifestyle changes can give more wiggle room in your wallet.
Self care
I used to suffer from eczema and skin issues. I struggled with my hair being dry, damaged and not being an expression of who I am; I did not recognize myself in the mirror when it came to my hair. I also struggled with the way my body carried my weight and not feeling as healthy as I could have been. I now have my eczema under control and no longer need medications to manage it. My hair is long, healthy and my own, meaning I no longer wear extensions. I see myself in the mirror now and I love who I see! I got back into Pilates and yoga flow. My husband and I even work out together and it has become a daily ritual that I love. I’ve also changed my diet to incorporate more protein, fiber and cut out eating fast food entirely. I drink more water and juices to stay hydrated. Making these little changes has shown major improvement and difference in the way I look and feel.
