What I’m Watching in November
There’s nothing I love more than cuddling up in bed and turning on some entertaining television after working a full day. Sometimes its the perfect little escape into another story, another setting to take your mind off the day to day stressors. Here’s what I’m currently binging! Most of these shows I watch on HBO Max app and Disney+.
Return to Amish
I picked back up in season 6 and am already on season 7! I love that they kept some of the original cast and the same vibes as Breaking Amish (you should watch that show first if you are interested to really understand this spin off). We catch up with Jeremiah, Carmela, Sabrina, Ada, Maureen and Roseanna, while meeting some new faces who are testing out the English world.
I enjoy this show because it gives insight into the culture of how the Amish live. Its essentially a fundamentalist cult that is heavy religion, isolation from the ‘English’ world and its amenities like electricity, photographs, and anything “worldly” like regular clothes for example. I wish we would get a visit/catch up with Abe, Rebecca and Mama Mary, hopefully we see them in an upcoming season!
Sisterwives
I am a long time Sisterwives fan! I’ve been fascinated with their lifestyle for sometime. Currently watching season 20, should be reaching the tell all episodes soon. Oh how we all wish they would sit together on a couch and have a tell all the good ol’ fashioned way, in a group lol.
This show has changed so much since the beginning as they are all divorced now and Kody is only in a relationship with Robyn. A major story line they are running this year is the will they or wont they seek another sister wife to live Robyn’s dream of being in a plural family. During their conversations it seems they are hesitant to pursue the lifestyle again, as if the risk is far too great to relive an experience like the one they had. Its nice to see Meri, Janelle and Christine living their best lives, moved on from the situation and scattered across the map.
Seeking Sisterwives
Speaking of seeking sister wives…maybe we will see Kody and Robyn on this show next lol. This show is a jaw dropper, filled with cringe moments and hypocrisy. The couples seeking definitely don’t seem like they are on the same page, some feeling more comfortable than others and some are completely lost in the sauce.
Watching these couples go on incredibly awkward dates to try and architect their families is quite entertaining. Its interesting to see how many different types of plural families they have, some are using K-1 visas to import wives from Brazil, some are living separate double lives with double wives, and some all sleep in the same bed together in their giant, custom made bed.
Dancing with the Stars
I look forward to this show each week! We are more than half way through the season and I still feel like Robert will bring home the mirror ball trophy. I wish some parts were different, such as the voting method and weekly prompts. I feel like to truly compare the dances, they should all dance the same dance each week to get an accurate score of their performances.
I also think 1 vote is enough, 10 is excessive and people conversate online to plan who they want to keep and send home by coordinating mass votes. Despite these obvious issues, its still a treat to watch these fun dances! Such amazing talent!
90 Day Happily Ever After
This show is my hate watch show. Its cringe and dramatic and sometimes boring but I’ve been invested since the original 90 day fiancé franchise so I need to see where these couples end up! I usually watch this towards the end of the week/weekends after I have caught up on all the other shows. This season they were pushing together a few couples to give off a ‘friends’ vibe, except it backfired since none of them are really friends.
Some of the couples are toxic and vile. Its interesting to see what they are willing to show on camera so I can only imagine how bad things really are behind the scenes. Honestly though the 4-6 part tell all’s are what the show is really worth. Its good to still watch the season because then you are invested in the drama at the reunion, but its nice that they still show replays to remind you.
