Sisterwives Season 19 Premiere
Sisterwives season 19 is finally here!! I am feeling this may be the very last season of Sisterwives considering how Kody is living as a monogamous, so I will be posting about the weekly episodes!
You can watch it live on TLC (I use Philo as a cable alternative) or you can watch it right after it airs on the Max app. This post will have details and spoilers about this episode along with commentary. If you do not want spoilers, save this post for after you watch the episode!
This weeks episode to kick off the new season is called A House Divided Can Not Stand and mentions filming for this season began in late 2022, which tells we are catching up from the last 2 years. We begin with a moment to share the announcement of Garrison Brown’s passing in March 2024. Garrison was the son of Janelle and Kody, a skilled photographer and beloved cat dad. In the last couple of seasons of the show, we saw how strained Kody’s relationship was with his adult children and highlighted how that affected them, specifically Garrison and Gabriel.
Previously on Sisterwives…Meri opens season 19 stating she has a right to tell her story, Christine promotes divorce and we flash back to Kody and Janelle’s fight where he calls her the Teflon queen. Robyn is crying on Coyote Pass about wanting to sit on a porch with her sister wives. The intro has been updated again with new headshots along with 3 of the 4 rings falling off the ‘i’ in Sisterwives.
They bought Coyote pass 4 years ago and are talking through their options on how to move forward stating if they don’t pay off the land within the allotted amount of time they will lose the entire property. When Christine left the family she sold her house and kept the money, while handing over her rights to Coyote Pass to the family. Robyn and Kody talk about if they will still build on the property or not. Kody’s confliction with the property is that it was purchased to pursue the dream of having the whole family together. Now that the family is broken up, he has hesitation in their plans to build and invest further.
We pick back up with Meri, who mentions at the time of filming it will have been a week since Kody and Meri officially divorced. She says for the last decade Kody has completely pulled away from her in all aspects of a relationship and she is moving forward in getting her spiritual marriage to Kody terminated. This is the first of the wives who is trying to spiritually separate from Kody.
Robyn is encouraging ‘healing’ with Kody and Janelle’s relationship telling him he has to “keep trying”, Kody seems very resistant and mentions he wants to scrap Coyote pass and that he is done with the idea of reconciliation. Robyn immediately stops the conversation and it is clear they are at an impasse with this subject.
We are now at Mykelti’s baby sprinkle for her twins is “Roll the Dice // Double Down” very Vegas themed, with red & black card decorations, poker table and dice décor. A baby sprinkle is essential a baby shower after you have already had a baby. The idea is you will reuse most baby items you received during the first baby shower, so this ‘sprinkle’ will provide things needed for the 2nd (and in their case 3rd!) baby will need. This is the first time the entire Brown family will get together since Christine left after that infamous knife in the kidneys scene between the five adults. Christine mentions that Janelle was invited but could not make it, and made it clear Meri was not invited.
When Kody and Robyn arrive, Kody approaches Avalon and Avalon seems unsure of Kody, almost as if she does not recognize him. It is obvious how nervous everyone is to be in the same space, this walking in scene was incredibly awkward. Christine mentions at this point they last saw each other about a year ago.
Kody and Robyn are stating they are struggling the most they ever have in their marriage. Robyn believes Kody is sabotaging their relationship by expecting the same rejecting he feels he received from the other wives. Robyn also makes note that she did not greet Christine at this event due to Christine wanting space and Robyn does not want to push herself onto her.
Ysabel has been living with Maddie in North Carolina for the last year and will be moving to Salt Lake City to go to the University of Utah, confirmed not going to be living with Christine.
Meri talks to her friend Brandi and her husband Tim in Las Vegas about how her relationship with Kody is officially done. Brandi tells Meri is she glad and mentions they have been done unofficially for a long time.
Janelle, Christine, Mykelti, Maddie, Truly, Ysabel and grandkids Axel, Evie K and Avalon. Janelle mentions that Maddie and Kody do not have any contact coming from either end. She says Maddie would rather he not reach out unless he can commit to having a constant presence in her life. When asked to talk about Maddie, Kody decides to not comment.
Kody says he doesn’t think polygamy is fair to the women or men, because they all had a choice to get out and he did not. We see a flashback of season 1 episode 1 where Kody is introducing his family with the infamous “love should be multiplied, not divided.”
This season on Sisterwives we meet David Wooley who is now Christine’s husband, Janelle speaks about how her relationship with Kody is officially done and how she is going to lawyer up because he is not communicating with her in regards to paying off Coyote Pass. Meri will moving away from Arizona, Robyn is losing respect for Kody and Janelle makes it clear she and Kody are not compatible.
I recently added a Sisterwives Mug to my shop. It comes in white or an accent of colors. Check it out!
